Are you searching for the Phu Quoc weather and the way to visit Phu Quoc? Do you want to do the trip there by yourself? Then, don't forget to check out this blog to explore more!

The Phu Quoc weather is absolutely amazing. Not only that, it is described as a jewelry island of Vietnam and has been one of the attractions to visit in Vietnam recently. The island is believed to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Visiting Phu Quoc, you will not only explore crystal beaches, but also admire imposing natural mountainous landscapes, dense rain forests. It should be noted that the population in Phu Quoc is quite sparse, so you can also enjoy your time there without the crowd.

Phu Quoc weather - Best time to visit the island

It can be divided into 3 seasons (actually, there are 2 main season in Phú Quốc like other places in Vietnam: rainy and dry) as the volume of tourists is also depended on this. They are high, shoulder and low seasons. Let me explain why I say so.

High season - November to March

Crystal beach, blue sky in Phú Quốc Island

This is the best time to visit Phu Quoc since the weather is the finest all year around. The temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius, and some days are lower making the atmosphere is quite pleasant. Trust me! There is nothing that can be compared with the scene that you are sunbathing under a crystal blue sky, swimming in a cozy atmosphere, playing some beach games in fine weather.

One more thing I want to take note for you is that, well, this is the best season to visit Phu Quoc so the number of tourists might reach the peak. Hence, if you are planning to visit this pristine island, remember to make reservations for accommodations, buses, flights… in advanced. Moreover, don’t be too surprised if the price of everything is higher than usual. My tip is finding a local restaurant or store at the night market to enjoy anything you want with a reasonable price.

Shoulder season - April to June

Phú Quốc - A pristine island of Vietnam

Well, it will rain, but suddenly. Chances of the weather are 50 - 50. Some days will be rainy but some will be okay. Therefore, prepare your stuffs carefully if visiting Phu Quoc this time. Of course this is not the high season so that you can also enjoy your time here without the fear of crowds and high-priced stuff. It should be noted that April and May are the hottest months in a year with an average temperature of 32 - 34 degrees Celsius.

Low season - July to September

Best paradise in Vietnam

This is the monsoon in Phu Quoc Island so it’s raining cats and dogs, I know how it sad but it’s true. Some days you can only stay at your accommodation without hanging out since it crazily rains outside. Moreover, the rain can make the red dirt roads more slippery and sometimes impossible to cross. However, you can visit Phu Quoc in this time since you can do some distinguish activities and enjoy cheap-priced resorts, food… Just remember to check the weather carefully before going to save yourself.

How to travel to Phu Quoc

There are 2 ways to travel to Phu Quoc from the mainland that you can take note for your trip.

The most convenient and easiest way is taking airplanes. Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC) is located in the southern end of Long Beach and 9km far away from the city center. You can check the flights from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi… The rates depend on the season, the point you start and the airplane agency you take. From the airport, you can take taxis to get the city center, or you can contact your accommodation for personal service, I mean picking-up service.

Fishing boat

Otherwise, you can take the boat to Phu Quoc, and of course this way can save your money, not your time. First, you should travel to Ha Tien Port - Rach Gia in the Mekong Delta to take the boat to Phu Quoc. It is easier if you do the trip around the Mekong Delta before that and visit Ha Tien lastly (of course it’s worth visiting). At Ha Tien Port, you can ask some officers speaking English for boat tickets. The price also depends on which class of the ferry you want to take. Then, from the port in Phu Quoc, you can ask for or search for a way to get the town.
